ILLUSTRATION
WINTER 2024
PROJECT OVERVIEW
For this project, I was asked to illustrate a poster based on a political topic that was important to me. I chose to create my poster based on what was happening at the Texas-Mexico border and one of the many struggles that immigrants go through when crossing the border. This poster was made for a poster series that debuted with the opening of PRAx, the arts building that opened in 2024.

PROCESS
The limitations for this project were that I could only use 2 colors and the white from the paper. I began sketching with that in mind, starting from the most literal and far away to zooming in more and more. My third sketch was the direction I ended up leaning towards.
The concept stayed true to the initial sketch I made up to the end. My poster was one of 12 posters chosen for the exhibition "Now: An exhibition centered around the socio-political issues of today". I felt really strong in my concept and it felt very gratifying to make something that I'm passionate about and have that received well.
